#Creative ways of mingling with an #international community. Having fun with #Portraiture #Dubai #Live

This is another weekend keeping in touch with the community I live within at #Dubai where more that 200 cultures/nationalities co-exist.

Here are some of my impressions while having an artistic dialogue with the general weekend public in this part of the modern #world.

Excited to be back at ARTE Dubai, with my Christmas Paintings

Dear folks! Happy Holidays!!!

Sorry that my blogposts have thinned out lately simply because of Dubai's busy work schedule.
But here I am pleased to be with you again to let you know about one more fun artistic activity I am going to be part of while I am busy in real life.

I am back at ARTE this season!

Having had a modest ;o) launch of my new line of Christmas Greeting Cards this December one can actually see its official appearance only in 2014 Christmas season.

However, for a sneak preview I will have it in Limited Editions on the ARTE tables this Friday 20 Dec 2013 along with my Christmas Watercolour Paintings in Posters.

All my cards are made as collector's editions, carefully worded and packed. It comes as single cards and a set of 6 assorted prints of my originals. My art-print posters are made with recycled hand-made paper made to look exactly like my originals.

My Pets - How they caught an artist's attention Part-2

This is not the first time I have spoken about this beauty!
I could not ignore how he was trying to communicate with me. His adorable tail all showing off its colors like this. Hmm well a Fighter Fish obviously is always in a temper. Wonder what he was throwing a tantrum about. It was anyway truly remarkable to see this show. What I did for him was feed him and sit down to make this pencil illustration.

My Pets - How they caught an artist's attention Part-1

Weird how some characteristics stood out so much of my pets that I had to capture them.
Here is one of them, making a phenomenal display with her tail :o))

Thanks to Illustration Friday I am able to highlight a couple of illustrations and paintings of them showing off what is usually a strange thing to illustrate but as an image it really could work...as it speaks a language for them. Let me quickly search a couple of other illustration with my pets with similar moves :o)

Artist Quotes

Exciting Art season around ! :o)

While I rush off to colour up really quickly these base-drawings begging to be painted upon for a really long time...(at least 18 of em to end with a biggie Acrylic on Canvas) for an important event coming up this weekend....
let me pass you these inspirational Artist Quotes.

There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living so there's no end to it.
::: Henry Moore :::

I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.
::: Andrew Wyeth :::

You come to nature with all her theories, and she knocks them all flat.
::: Renoir :::

The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.
::: Michelangelo :::

When I work, I work very fast, but preparing to work can take any length of time.
:::
Cy Twombly :::

A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing.
::: William Dobell :::

Andy Warhol inspired

This is the first of a new series of work I made a long time ago.

An Andy Warhol inspired work made out of Indian ethnic elements which most Hindu women adorn themselves with and with dark-toned Swarovski crystals.

I thought what better portrait to make with these materials but Marilyn Monroe.

I have to allocate a sound amount of time to create a few pieces to have a show soon.

Will keep you posted as I make more.
